I just wanted to say this anyone who knows me has heard my opinion and how I felt over last years Fanexpo in Toronto. With out going into it in detail again I'll sum it up simply........IT SUCKED BIG TIME.......... I think anyone who was there last year can understand what I mean.
This year however I have to say things ran alot better than any of the Fanexpos I'd been to in the past. Even with the weather causing some celebrities to be delayed, and Elvire being sick (but she still showed and was wonderful, way to go Elvira) To all the comic book writers and artist who I met and got books signed by I say thank you, to Fanexpo I say thank you to the 5 book rule this year it made things move so much faster, and as a fan I only bring a few to get signed, I dont bring a long box of all the same issue for ebay purposes (you people suck). To all the celebrities I got photos with and had photos signed by again thank you (especially the ones who spelt my name right). And lastly Spacecast you guys are great AJ and Teddy wonderful hosts and so friendly (Ottawa West-side vs East-side). So HobbyStarr I don't know if you actuall listed to the fans complaining about last year or it was the fact it was in a larger venue or the fact that many people didn't go this year because of last year, or if it was a combination of al of the above but I can only hope next year is as good if not better

DC's bold plan, for good or bad its coming
So DC comics is planning a big relaunch, wow never seen that happen before, at the end of the summer. Several major characters are getting revamped and several minor characters are getting frontline status.
And just like most fans I'm not thrilled by what they are doing. I realize that DC is doing this to attract new younger readers, but Ithink they don't realize how much this is going to drive away loyal readers from them. Everyone has seen the pictures going around and maybe even the preview comic showing pages from a few of the new titles. Now I must admit the one with Batman running over the roof tops and Green Lantern blundering into him and going all shocked at discovering he's real is actually quite good and reminds me of Jim Lee's Allstar Batman. but Superman in a tee-shirt jeans and construction boots kind of leaves things well f@#*ed.
So I write this having just picked up the first new issue of Justice League and the final issue of Flashpoint. We'll see which one is better and I'll post my comments on that soon.
